Coaching is a highly effective development tool that’s tailored precisely to your needs, offering an exceptional level of support that goes beyond generic programmes. It’s a collaboration between coach and client, involving structured, confidential conversations that get to the core of your challenges, teasing out fresh insights and leading to breakthroughs. Coaching helps you define what you want to achieve or change and guides you towards your goals, holding you accountable along the way.
A 1:1 coaching session is ultimately a confidential conversation between coach and client to support the client’s development. I use thought-provoking questions and relevant tools / models to guide you through an in-depth exploration of your situation and support you in determining a positive way forward. The session is an opportunity for reflection – time for you to think clearly, without distractions, about what you want to achieve. It’s a chance to be open and honest, safe in the knowledge that conversations are confidential and what you share is not judged.
My standard coaching package involves six sessions of 90 minutes, scheduled every fortnight. However, recognising that every client has unique challenges, I prefer to tailor assignments to suit individual needs. This is where the initial pre-coaching conversation is important, as we get a sense of what’s involved and start to build rapport. Sessions can be slightly longer and more spread out, or we can agree a more flexible retainer basis.
DISC Flow® is an assessment tool that helps you understand how you prefer to behave and communicate with others. DISC Flow® profiles reveal how you are influenced by four different primary styles: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance. You typically have an element of each in the way you behave, though one is generally more prevalent. The profiles also incorporate a measure of emotional intelligence, which indicates your ability to express and control your emotions and use this awareness to guide your thinking and behaviour. DISC Flow® is a great tool for improving individual and team effectiveness, as it highlights both strengths and limitations, and provides a practical foundation for enhancing communication and lifting performance.
